Rancor
bitter feelings; ill will
Example:-
Let us forgot out the rancor and cooperate in the new endeavour.
Mnemonic:-
RANCOR: RANKER:- Most of the students always have bitter feelings for top rankers.

Rarefy
to make or become thin; less dense; to refine
Example:-
Rarefy the law gets so rarefied that it doesn't reflect the reality of people's lives then you are in trouble.
Mnemonic:-
rare-fy rare ~ low in density (therefore thin, sparse) -fy is a root means "to make". you "make" something "thinner" is rarefy.

Recalcitrant
stubbornly resistant to authority or control
Example:-
The owners had to separate the recalcitrant dogs to keep them from fighting.
Mnemonic:-
re+calci(calculator->calculate)+trant....so imagine a person who has made a mistake in calculations using a calci and is unwilling to re-calculate...it shows he is STUBBORN

Recant
to withdraw, esp. a previously held belief 
Example:-
At worst, you may be put to death after much torture if you do not recant your belief in Jesus.
Mnemonic:-
re(again) + cant(cannot) ----> "I have told you again and again, it cannot be done, it has been rejected.

Recondite
hidden; concealed; difficult to understand; obscure
Example:-
Since I do not have a law degree, I find it hard to understand the recondite terms of the contract.
Mnemonic:-
read recondite as "re conduct". The professor re coducted(repeated) the topic as the students could not understand properly.

Redoubtable
inspiring fear; worthy of honor.
Example:-
During the cold war period, neighboring countries tried not to offend the Russians because they
could be redoubtable foes.
Mnemonic:-
re(again) + doubts ---> things that cause doubts again and again cause fear and worthy of honor.
 

Refulgent
radiant; shiny; brilliant
Example:-
George was positively glowing with refulgent energy.
Mnemonic:-
refulgent sounds like detergent.. use detergent to make things shine

Refute
to disaprove; to successfully argue against.
Example:-
The lawyer refuted the testimony of the witness.
Mnemonic:-
sounds like refuse.

Relegate
to forcibly assign, esp., to a lower place or position.
Example:-
Generals who incurred the emperor's disfavor were soon relegated to the farther reaches of the empire.
Mnemonic:-
divide it like rail + gate. Earlier station master is now appointed as a watchman, so in a worst position.

Renege
to fail to honor a commitment; to go back on a promise; fail to fulfill a promise or obligation
Example:-
I'd hate to have to renege on my promise and kill you.
Mnemonic:-
renege : made of re+nege nege is a root for negative, go negative on ones own said words, which is the meaning.

Repudiate
to refuse to have anything to do with.
Example:-
If you say that I told you, I will repudiate that claim.
Mnemonic:-
he ate the PUDDING AGAIN.. When his mother asked him if he ate the pudding, he tried to REPUDIATE (deny eating it)... :)

Rescind
cancel officially
Example:-
It looks bad for me to rescind a promotion I have already given you.
Mnemonic:-
rescind reminds us of "resign", where resign is to cancel your appointment and rescind is to cancel an agreement.

Reticent
unwilling to communicate very much.
Example:-
Although he is reticent on the subject of his private life in interviews, has been married twice.
Mnemonic:-
Cent (Saint) is stereotypically reluctant to speak or draw attention to themselves.

Reverent
feeling or showing profound respect or veneration; showing great reverence for god
Example:-
The knight dropped to one knee in reverent servitude to his lord.
Mnemonic:-
reverent-divide as river end i.e we bath in the rivr end as a part of worship

Rhetoric
the art or study of effective use of language for communication and persuasion.
Example:-
That's just rhetoric. You're not really addressing the issue.
Mnemonic:-
rhetoric = "right oral" skills. If you have the right oral skills, you can communicate well.
